Post

Post offices are not difficult to find within the city. However try and prepare your things as much as possible in order to avoid all possible problems that come with the language barrier. All post offices are recognizable with their “Èeska Pošta” signs. The main Prague post office is Hlavni Pošta, Jindøišska 14, Prague 1. This 24 hour a day post office is located right off of Wenceslas Square. The smaller post offices are open Monday-Friday 8am- 6pm (sometimes 5pm) and Saturdays 8am-12pm.

There are two things to keep in mind while in Prague. The first is that you may want to put “Par Avion” on your package or letter if you are sending your mail across an ocean. If you don’t, there is a good chance they will send it by boat and it will take two months to reach its destination. The second is that you can receive mail at the main post office, Hlavni Pošta, if the term “Poste Restante” is marked on the box.
