Prague, a city full of good cheap hotels!
In the centre one can find a clean and presentable hotel at a reasonable price (maximum 70 euros per night for a double room) but prices may go up until 300 euros!
One has the possibility to book directly. On the premises, except from the very touristy periods, one can find a room relatively easily.
The hotels are classified in 4 categories (from one to four stars). Be aware that a two star hotel will have the same facilities as a Pension with the exception of serving an evening meal. Most of hotels include the breakfast in their prices and have a restaurant. In general, they are well held. There is only one problem: the bathrooms are not always to the standards of our Western regions!
Be also aware that many Czech hotels and especially pensions do not recognize a difference between a Twin and a Double bed. For them a double bed is two twin beds put together. The big international hotels make the difference between both and you get the standard double bed in this case.
Only the top hotels will give you clean sheets and towels everyday but, you can pay for an extra service if it is important to you.
Generally, in Czech Republic, they use to charge per room not per person/per night and there is often a discount for single occupancy. Be careful of an apparently cheap price as it probably means the accommodation is charging per person.
